Huge, vast, and lively as Bangkok may be, I have to say that CenterPoint at Central World is arguably the most vibrant teen hangout in the city’s prime downtown area!
CenterPoint at Central World is downtown Bangkok’s coolest teen hangout, a place where numerous groups of teens come on a daily basis to perfect their dancing skills.

CenterPoint at Central World is the foremost venue in downtown Bangkok where teens come to perfect their dancing skills.
Many years ago CenterPoint as a prime teen hangout used to be located in an open-air venue in the middle of Siam Square, an outdoor shopping arcade area in downtown Bangkok adjacent to the Siam BTS Skytrain Station. However, in recent years, CenterPoint has since moved to the 7th level of the Central World shopping and lifestyle complex, one of Southeast Asia’s largest.
The new indoor venue is air-conditioned, a highly preferred feature given Thailand’s hot and humid tropical climate.
Today, CenterPoint at Central World remains as lively as ever, with numerous groups of teens arriving daily to practice their unique styles of dancing, ranging from K-Pop to street hip-hop.
The venue is especially lively during the evening hours and on weekends.
During the peak evening hours and on weekends, virtually every nook and cranny of this venue is crammed with numerous groups of teens showing off their unique dancing skills.
Another view of young Bangkok teens, some still in their school uniforms, getting ready to practice their dancing skills.
I have to say that so many of these dancers are indeed incredibly talented! Thailand’s got talent! This spacious indoor and air-conditioned venue now serves as a place for Thai teens to hone in on their dancing talents, a prime venue for them to express themselves in a very creative way.
I stayed at CenterPoint for an extended time during my recent visit, admiring their talents and taking some photos, of which none of them seemed to mind. In fact, it seemed that many of the teens were quite glad to see the presence of an admiring audience. I also spotted quite a few tourists who came to view the live dancing practice sessions and performances with amusement.
Not only does CenterPoint provide ample indoor space for downtown Bangkok’s teens to sharpen their dancing skills, the venue also offers entertaining games, such as these ‘music-stepping’ game machines, where youngsters dance vigorously to the tunes being played by the machines.
Oftentimes these automated machine-based dancing games can even be more vigorous than the typical group-based floor dancing sessions!
In addition to serving as a prime venue for Bangkok’s teens to hone in on their dancing skills, CenterPoint at Central World also serves as a place where artists and traders offer their unique creations to customers and visitors, especially during the peak evening hours.
Anyone care for a photo? Cute ‘Purikura’ photo booths are available at CenterPoint for anyone interested in a more novel and creative snapshot.
Located on the 7th level of Central World, CenterPoint is surrounded by numerous dining venues, and is connected to Central World’s vast dining zones on the mall’s 3rd, 6th, and 7th levels, thus offering myriads of endless dining selections at friendly prices.
Below is a view of Central World’s vast dining zone on the huge shopping complex’s 7th level, which is directly accessible and just a minute’s walk from CenterPoint.
For anyone interested, the Central World Shopping Complex is located right at Bangkok’s famed Rajprasong Intersection, short walk from either the Siam or Chidlom BTS Skytrain Stations via a comfortable elevated walkway.
